Day 30: Chinese New Year Time!

The week of Chinese New Year is on us and there's red and orange and specialty snacks everywhere! This is a very humble CNY decoration at the mall near our apartment. I wanted to go out and get some of the more elaborate ones but the rain just.wouldn't.stop. We had non-stop rain on Sunday that lasted through most of Monday.

  1. A friend of mine once said that rain is expected in CNY :D... it represents good fortune for the upcoming years :-)...

  2. Very nice pic! It'll be wonderful to watch the lion dance and fireworks....Are the people allowed to burst firecrackers in Singapore on Chinese New year? This year the Chinese New year is based on which zodiac animal?

  3. CNY is based on Rabbit this year. I guess.
I got an email at Work from our culture committee, they are even featuring lunch for CNY at work. (First time in my exp.)

  4. GM, I've heard that too. However, in my 3 years here, I haven't seen rain like this.
